Why Choose Kimura Shukokai Karate Kent?

From the students and parents

Natalie Mycka - Kent Karate Student

I started Karate when I was 5 years old. My friend started a few months before me, and encouraged me to go with her, so I did, and I have never looked back. I try to go training at least twice a week, as it teaches me to have discipline, respect and also I have made lots of new friends. I learnt to count to ten in Japanese. Sensei Katie and Sensei Chris are very encouraging and kind. I don't ever think about quitting when I get to Black Belt as Karate will stay with me forever.

Finley Lodge - Kent Karate Student

I have learned a lot more than just a new sport since I joined Kent Karate: respect, discipline, listening, the true meaning of team spirit, being a good sport, encouraging/supporting others and being a good competitor. My Mum and Dad are jealous of my six-pack and I have picked up some Japanese language skills along the way too. I've been with Kent Karate for 3 years now, training 3 times a week, and have never wanted to skip a training session...

Maria Pereira - Kent Karate Student

I joined Kent Karate in 2006 when I was 10 years old, when I first moved to Kent I knew nothing of self-defence and I was keen to learn, as it had been in my family for generations. When I had my first karate lesson, I knew that this would be a well-disciplined sport that would help me find the strength that I needed in new surroundings.

My experiences since joining the club have been an inspirational and very enjoyable journey. As after a few years of training I had a dream of achieving my black belt, along the way I have had a few minor setbacks, but karate taught me to never give up when times get tough, and provided me with the determination to carry on.

In 2012, my dream came true, as after many years of excellent training provided by Sensei Chris and Katie, I was able to perform my kata and many different techniques in front of Shihan Daniels.

Karate has not only taught me self-defence, but also developed me as a person, as it has given me amazing friendships and comfort within the Dojo.

If you're looking to join the best karate club around then this is the place to be. My twin boys have been going for several years and absolutely love it.

June 8, 2015I can't rate Kent Karate highly enough. My son has been a member for a couple of years now & he has achieved so much. My daughter has just started (age 5) & asks every day whether it is "karate day"! She loves it. Chris & Katie are both excellent instructors & superb at what they do.

June 8, 2015I have been going to Kent Karate for 8 years, from when I was 6 years old I had loved training from the start with the members and the trainers and I am proud to be apart of it! I am now 14 and am proceeding to take part in international competitions along side my sister, brother and dad, and Kent Karate has helped me to achieve my goals and hopefully more to follow...

June 8, 2015I have been part of the karate family for 8 years now and I can confidently say that it was one of the best decisions I made to join! I have grown from a timid, shy 11 year old to become a confident and outgoing 19 year old. I do karate with my 2 younger brothers and my dad. We all enjoy doing the sport together and competing alongside one another in local, national and international competitions. Karate will not only improve your fitness levels but shape you as a person.

We are very impressed with the club, its instructors, members and ethos. After more than 6 years, we are still keen to be there 3 times per week. The karate skills, confidence and self-discipline developed over the years will be of value forever. The six-pack and some basic Japanese language skills are a nice added bonus...

June 8, 2015Sensei Chris and Sensei Katie are great instructors and have a fab way with the kids. My son still has his moments of disquiet, but he thrives on the structured, disciplined and nurturing environment that the karate club provides. Most of all, he really enjoys himself and has just started attending two classes per week, now. There is a good choice of different venues to choose from, throughout the week. I would thoroughly recommend it!
